Non-Hispanic White

Definition: Number of students enrolled in public middle schools by race/ethnicity.

Notes: Middle schools defined as those with lowest grade of 4 through 7 and highest grade of 4 through 9.   Data for 1999-2001 geocoded from zip codes to metropolitan areas.  Enrollment by race/ethnic groups will not necessarily sum to total enrollment because not all schools reported enrollment by race/ethnicity.  Data for multi-racial students only collected for all states as of 2010-2011.  Excludes metro areas in which 10% or more of students attended schools for which race/ethnicity data was not reported.
