Abigail N. Walters

Research Associate

Abigail N. Walters is a research associate at the Institute for Equity in Child Opportunity & Healthy Development at Boston University School of Social Work.

Walters’ work focuses on equity, family job quality and immigrants’ access to social safety net programs. In addition, Walters performs policy equity assessments on social safety net programs.  

Prior to joining the Institute, Walters was a senior research associate at The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College, where she focused on elder economic insecurity, older workers and housing. Walters is currently a doctoral student at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, and she holds a master’s degree in public policy and a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Simmons University.
